Amethoria Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how I ("I", "me", or "my"), as the individual developer behind the Amethoria mobile application ("Amethoria" or the "App"), handle information when you use my Service. I operate the App in a personal capacity and am not a registered company, corporation, or other legal entity. Amethoria is built exclusively for iPhone and is not offered or supported for iPad, other tablet form factors, or non‑iPhone hardware. The Service is made available at no direct charge to you and is governed by the practices outlined below.
Please read this document carefully. It explains what categories of information may be collected, the purposes for which that information is used, how it may be stored or shared, and the choices available to you. Understanding these practices helps you make informed decisions about using Amethoria.
By installing, opening, or continuing to use the App, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection and use of information as described here. I will not sell your personal information or disclose it to third parties except where this Policy expressly permits such disclosure or where I am legally required to do so.
Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy carry the meanings given to them in my Terms of Service, which you can access from within Amethoria.
Face and Image Data
At a Glance
Face and image processing for App features does not rely on third-party AI platforms. Work is performed only on systems under my direct control.
- Information submitted: Images you choose to upload, including any faces or bodies visible in those images.
- Where it is sent: Exclusively to my own servers. Your uploads are not forwarded to external AI vendors, hosted model APIs, or third-party "AI as a service" providers for this functionality.
- When transmission occurs: Only after you provide in-app confirmation (for example, by tapping Agree or Continue before submission).
- Retention and location: Held briefly on secured infrastructure and removed once processing finishes. See the sections below on storage duration and location for further detail.
Consent before processing
Prior to sending a photo for AI-based effects, the App will present a clear consent step. Choosing Agree or Continue indicates that you have reviewed this Policy and authorize the handling of your image as described. If you do not consent, that particular AI effect request will not proceed.
What is collected and why
Scope of collection: The image file(s) you select through the App, which may include depictions of faces and bodies. These materials are analyzed to derive facial feature landmarks (such as eyes, nose, and mouth) strictly to deliver the visual effects you request. I do not maintain a biometric identity database, facial recognition profiles, or templates used for authentication.
Method of collection: You initiate upload through the in-app workflow; the App transmits the selected file to my servers for processing.
Permitted uses: Processing is limited to producing the specific effect you asked for (for example, related face or style transformations). The data is not used for advertising profiling, identity verification, or unrelated analytics. After the effect is delivered, associated image data is removed and not kept on an ongoing basis.
Who performs processing
Processing is carried out solely on my infrastructure. Your photos are not routed to external AI providers, commercial model hosts, or third-party inference platforms for face-related features. I do not license, sell, or otherwise make your facial imagery available to outside parties for their independent use.
How processing is carried out
After you submit an image, it is received by my servers through the App. Only my systems perform the analysis and generate outputs—without engaging third-party AI services for that step. Results are merged with templates or effects to produce the final render. During processing, files may reside temporarily in encrypted cloud infrastructure (for example, Amazon Web Services) and are purged automatically once compositing is complete.
Third-party sharing of face data
Facial images and associated processing records are not supplied to third-party AI services and are not shared with outside organizations for their own business purposes. They exist only on my controlled environment for the duration needed to fulfill your request and are deleted promptly afterward.
Retention period
Image data is kept only for the minimum time required to complete processing—for example, until the generated result is returned to your device—after which it is deleted without undue delay.
Storage location
Uploaded images and related metadata may be held temporarily within my secured, encrypted hosting environment (such as AWS), protected by access controls. No external "AI cloud" vendor receives or retains your images for this feature; storage and computation for face-related effects remain within my operational boundary until deletion upon completion.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Amethoria itself does not intentionally set or manage first-party browser cookies. Nevertheless, the App may incorporate third-party libraries or SDKs that employ cookies or comparable identifiers to support analytics, fraud prevention, or reliability improvements. Those technologies operate under the policies of their respective providers.
You may configure your device or browser to block or limit cookies. Please note that disabling such technologies could impair certain features or cause portions of the Service to behave incorrectly.
Service Providers
I may work with vetted third parties who perform limited tasks on my behalf to help deliver and maintain the Service. Examples include hosting, cloud storage, infrastructure management, or analytics related to stability and performance. Such providers may access personal information only to the extent needed for their assigned function and are expected to protect that information and refrain from using it for unrelated purposes.
Data Security
I take the protection of information seriously and apply reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to guard against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Despite these efforts, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You acknowledge that you provide information at your own discretion and risk.
External Links
The Service may reference or link to websites or services operated by others. I do not control those destinations and encourage you to review their privacy statements before interacting with them. I am not responsible for the content, security practices, or data handling of third-party sites, and your dealings with them are solely between you and the relevant operator.
Diagnostic and Log Information
If the App encounters errors during use, diagnostic information ("Log Data") may be collected through third-party crash or analytics tools. Log Data can include your device IP address, device model, operating system version, App configuration at the time of the incident, timestamps, and related technical metrics useful for troubleshooting.
This information is used exclusively to monitor performance, diagnose faults, maintain security, and improve stability—not for unrelated profiling or marketing.
Children
Amethoria is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age group. If I learn that such information was obtained inadvertently, I will take steps to delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child has submitted data through the App may contact me using the details below so I can investigate and respond appropriately.
Policy Updates
I may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in the Service, my practices, or legal requirements. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date unless a different notice period is required by law. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. I recommend reviewing this page from time to time.
